Friends, whisky lovers, countrymen, lend me your ears!

Forget stocks and bonds, cask investments are where its at: Scottish Distillery Tullibardine offers casks for sale 10 yrs ahead of time in 3 sizes: barrel (350 bottles), hogshead (435 bottles), and butt (870 bottles).
They say: “Each purchaser will receive a signed certificate of authentication, complete with photograph of their very own cask with their name stencilled onto it. We will carefully store each special offer cask in our own bonded warehouse until it matures over a minimum of ten years. Naturally, you will be welcome to visit your cask at any time at our historic distillery in the beautiful Perthshire countryside. You may even enjoy a wee sample or two as the years pass. Then, when the whisky has matured to perfection, a whole cask of Tullibardine single malt will be available for bottling, perhaps featuring your very own label“.
Could be a great investment if the price of vintage/pedigreed whisky keeps up with age. Owners are entitled to receive one 70cl/700ml sample from each cask each year, so you can make it a gift to yourself. Or in my opinion, redistribute into a few miniature bottles with your label and give as gifts. And/or keep one mini bottle each year such that in year 10, you have 10 bottles of whisky of consecutive ages. Now that would be one hell of a gift/collection/auction piece. Could be exceedingly cool to have your personal stash of vintage spirit to commemorate an august occasion/achievement in your life 10 years from now. So pick some 10yr goal and plan to either celebrate with your cask then or just enjoy reaping the profit from a sale 10 years in the making!
…The whole thing makes me wonder though; who/what/where will we be in 10 years from now? Another issue is how regulatory issues will affect alchohol import/export depending on one’s location.
Other distilleries selling future casks: Arran, Bruichladdich, Bladnoch, Glendronach, Ardbeg, Tobermory.
