Holy Romania! Of sex and pork.

What is in the air out there?
First, a priest unsuccessfully tries to discredit a local 74-year old councillor by filming him having sex in church with a local 17-year-old girl that he hired, then a football team there demands a refund after it bought a player for a transfer fee of 15 kilos of pork sausages. Is it any wonder that the priest didn’t get the councillor’s job (his main motivation for setting him up), and the footballer in question quit the team and the country in annoyance?
UPDATE:
Now a Romanian mayor is under fire after he spent £10,000 on staging a party with male strippers to mark Women’s Day. Lucian Iliescu, the Mayor of Giurgiu, decided to spend public money laying on the treat for his female employees on March 8. He wrote in a report to the local council: “It has become a tradition for us to celebrate the women’s day on March 8. “In this light I recommend to allocate money for a special dinner with 350 guests, flowers for every women and a show with professional artists.” The ‘professional artists’ were in fact ‘male strippers who were hired for the whole night.

[...] As reported before, the air must be a bit different in Romania. This certainly bolsters the notion: Police in Romania say they have caught a thief who stole money from a priest’s car while he was in a strip club. The 43-year-old priest was allegedly spotted by the thief in a club called No Problem in Suceava town, reports Evenimentul Zilei newspaper. Witnesses say he was being free with his money, hiring all of the dancers to perform for him and his friends. Police say the thief found out which was the priest’s car and broke into it, stealing £4,000 he found in a suitcase. But officers managed to track him down and recover the money, after studying CCTV footage from the club’s carpark. Church authorities said they will start their own investigation into the priest’s moral qualifications for his job (Ananova). [...]
