This & That, Ceci et Cela

A harrowing but journalistically excellent movie. Directed by Stephen Frears, starring Chiwetel Ojiofor and Audrey Tautou. It reminded one of most the things I hate about England because it focuses on immigrants’ lives. For those who don’t get what I mean when I say I cannot live in London because of the grey atmosphere (not just climate) that blankets it; this illustrates some of what I mean. Ojiofor was great, Tautou was also credible but her Turkish accent stank, by the way.

Which leads me to ask: Since Frears cast the roles with actors who originated from the country of the characters they played; couldn’t he find a real Turkish actress to play Senay?
