Berlin Brothels launch soccer sex campaign
Everyone in Germany is über excited about the upcoming soccer world cup even the hos. Ja; prostitution is legal in Germany, so brothels are in a festive mood. One of the newer ones was launched in September to capitalize on the event at a cost of £4.5 million and is already averaging 130 visitors a day. Its staff is planning to heavily promote it at the Olympic Stadium and hotels during the month-long tournament which culminates with the finals on July 9th in Berlin. However, there are also fears that the boom might result in an increase in forced prostitution based on traffic from poorer Eastern European countries (scotsman).
Other host cities like Dortmund are gearing up for the event by installing drive-in brothels. The first one built in 2001 in Cologne apparently was a shaggarific success, hence its popularity. The setup includes garages or “performance boxes”, for clients to drive their cars into to engage with the women. There are also containers for customers who do not own a car. Naturally, the efficient Germans think of everything; the boxes are equipped with showers and toilets for the prostitutes and emergency alarms in case they feel threatened.
