Illegally hot: Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren
One of the hottest hits at the Frankfurt and auto show was the Mercedes Benz SLR, a product offering inspired by the famous 1950s SLR models. Working with McLaren, Mercedes used the latest F1-developed technologies to construct the lightweight, mostly carbon fibre body and a lust-inspiring, aerodynamically styled exterior. Under the hood is a 5.5-liter/626-horsepower supercharged V-8 paired with AMG five-speed automatic. It can reportedly achieve the almighty 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds with a 207-mph terminal velocity. It has apparently already garnered a two-year waiting list.
