2006 Allard J2X: little motoring gem
British roadster, the Allard J2X, is back in production about 50 years after the manufacturer stopped making it. From 1951-54, the Allard Motor Company built 83 copies and the firm is now producing an identically styled but technically updated J2X MK1 with an annual production limit set at 100 units per year. As the styling of the car suggests, 2006 Allard looks like the perfect little vessel to go motoring, not driving in. Hence the company’s line of complimentary accessories like the motoring cap and gloves shown will probably be quite successful too.
Now known as Montreal-based Allard Motor Works Inc. (AMW), the firm has its design and prototyping offices in Montreal and production facilities in Champlain, NY. The car comes with the GM 350 RamJet (350 hp) as its standard engine, but it could also be had with a GM V8, Chrysler 5.7 or 6.1 litre Hemi, or Cadillac rear-drive Northstar engine instead. Comes with standard transmission (automatic is optional) and goes for USD $95,000. More high-res pictures at seriouswheels.com .
