This & That, Ceci et Cela

You know the strange thing with perfume that I discovered a few yrs ago: with very very few exceptions there’s nothing new! Sure there’s a new bottle and new name, but when I sniff most of them, they invariably smell just like some other older/classic one. Sometimes a subtle variation, e.g. a lighter this/softer that, but if you wanted a lighter Magie Noire for instance, wouldn’t you just spray less your usual amount or use only the perf/lotion instead of layering it? I used to be more of a perfume freak and my choice of scents run across almost the whole scent range (depending on mood), but this development reduced my perf buying to mostly refilling of old faves and experimenting with creating personal blends from related raw materials.
